The Plastics Warehouse, founded in 2000, has developed into one of the leading plastic warehouse wholesalers/retailers in the country. The number of stores has grown to seven, with stores in the Western Cape, Gauteng, Bloemfontein and Eastern Cape.

 

The Plastics Warehouse stocks a comprehensive range of plastic-ware, much larger than most national chain-store retailers in Southern Africa. They are known for their selection, service and price. Although core lines are plastic, many other products are also available, typically to complement their core lines. The range covers office equipment, cleaning, outdoor, leisure, kitchenware, toys, storage, stationery, garden and other household items. There are also extensive industrial/commercial ranges.

 

The various subsystems previously used resulted in the need for an integrated ERP system that could tie the various business functions together. Increased productivity was achieved through stricter financial and operational disciplines, optimising stock and reducing static stock levels. “The SAP Business One Retail Solution provided the seamless integrated system we needed to move our business forward. Prior to go-live, each store had a complete stock take, which revealed over 20,000 distinct line items that were cleaned and organised – removing duplicate and unwanted data. Through the integration, automation and simplification of business processes, they experienced a 90% reduction in purchase order processing time.
